چکیده

We studied structural dynamics in the photodissociation of iodoform (CHI3) dissolved in methanol by timeresolved x-ray diffraction. A femtosecond laser pulse induces the bond-breaking of an iodine atom from iodoform and an x-ray pulse generated from a synchrotron gives time-dependent diffraction signal which contains the structural information of photoproducts with 100 ps time-resolution and 0.001 Å spatial resolution. CHI2 radical and I atom are formed by the results of the ultrafast photodissociation of iodoform and these intermediates recombine to form iodoform again via geminate recombination. The iodine atoms which escape from the cages nongeminately recombine to form I2. Solvent dynamics, heating and solvent expansion, caused by photodissociation, are also explained from time-resolved xray diffraction data.

Ultrafast X-ray diffraction in liquid, solution and gas: present status and future prospects.

In recent years, the time-resolved X-ray diffraction technique has been established as an excellent tool for studying reaction dynamics and protein structural transitions with the aid of 100 ps X-ray pulses generated from third-generation synchrotrons. The forthcoming advent of the X-ray free-electron laser (XFEL) will bring a substantial improvement in pulse duration, photon flux and coherence...

The Synthesis of Zeolites A, X and HS from Natural Iranian Kaolinite and the Study of the Transformation of Zeolites X to HS and Zeolites Y to P by X-ray diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscopy.

Zeolites A, X and HS were synthesized from natural Iranian Kaolinite by alkaline fusion,,followed by refluxing the mixture. The transformation of zeolites X to HS and Y to P were studied at different time intervals by X-ray diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). It was revealed that in solution, zeolites HS and P are more stable than zeolites X and Y respectively

Silver metal was recovered primarily from spent X-ray photographic solution using a horizontal tube furnace. The X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy analysis approved almost 95 percent purity of the recovered silver metal. In the next step, the synthesis of silver nanoparticles from the recovered silver metal proceeded by using chemical reduction method. The proposed method uses e...

Direct Observation of Ultrafast Non-thermal Melting by Ultrafast X-ray Diffraction

Ultrafast nonthermal melting of femtosecond laser-irradiated germanium was observed directly for the first time using sub-picosecond, 1.54-angstrom x-ray diffraction. Such measurements allow the study of transient atomic motion fundamental to many processes in physics, chemistry, and biology.

Detection of nonthermal melting by ultrafast X-ray diffraction.

Using ultrafast, time-resolved, 1.54 angstrom x-ray diffraction, thermal and ultrafast nonthermal melting of germanium, involving passage through nonequilibrium extreme states of matter, was observed. Such ultrafast, optical-pump, x-ray diffraction probe measurements provide a way to study many other transient processes in physics, chemistry, and biology, including direct observation of the ato...
